PRG's Finite Element Analysis of Nozzles Capability Now A Standard COMPRESS Feature
Codeware and Paulin Research Group (PRG),
the leading experts in finite element analysis of pressure vessels,
announced an agreement this month whereby PRG's FEA-Nozzles
capability will be included as a standard feature in COMPRESS.
This capability will permit COMPRESS users to compute accurate stresses
and flexibilities for a wide range of nozzles in pressure vessel heads,
cylinders and cones. The extensive capability eliminates the need to use
limited scope empirical equations in known situations that do not
produce conservative results. A wide variety of geometries are
included along with the ability to include pressure and external
loads in a primary or fatigue analysis per UG-22 and U2(g). All
geometry and material properties are transferred automatically to a
finite element meshing algorithm that has been used more than one-hundred
thousand times. Nozzle flexibilities, stresses and stress intensification
factors in accordance with the ASME Code are computed.

Extend the Capabilities of COMPRESS
Are you looking for software to extend the
capabilities of COMPRESS? The following
solutions have been developed to meet
COMPRESS users’ specialized needs:
-
Coster
produces Excel® compatible
vessel cost estimates from your COMPRESS
files. Coster can be customized to
reflect your organization and enables
you to generate more consistent and
accurate budget estimates and quotes. As
Coster estimates are derived from
COMPRESS checked models, you can be
certain that all applicable ASME design
rules have been included.
-
Drafter
quickly converts vessels
generated by COMPRESS into fabrication
or as-built drawings using AutoCAD. For
increased flexibility, the drawings
produced by Drafter can be customized by
modifying the templates provided.
-
PVGENPro,
developed by StrucSoft
Solutions, enables you to add structural
steel components to your COMPRESS vessel
and turn it into an intelligent,
AutoCAD-based 3D model. All COMPRESS
geometries, specifications, and material
properties are preserved. With PVGenPro,
you can directly edit components, such
as nozzles, modify clearances, add
supporting steel as well as generate
bills of material, 2D drawings and
fabrication instructions for Vernon Tool
Pipe Cutting Machines. Tel.:

-
Vessel Design Summary (VDS),
developed by IMAGE Custom Engineering
Solutions, allows Vessel Designers and
Drafters to have quick and easy access
to the results of a COMPRESS calculation
by exporting it to the following Excel®
Spreadsheets:
- Vessel Design Summary (1 per Vessel)
- Project Summary
- Bill of Materials Sheet
