FEA-Nozzles Capabilities
Overview

The FEA-Nozzles feature is the result of a collaboration with Paulin Research Group (PRG), the leading expert in finite element analysis of pressure vessels. Nozzle geometries entered in COMPRESS are seamlessly exported to PRG's finite element analysis software.

How It Works

FEA-Nozzles works with the data already in the COMPRESS file, saving redundant entry. COMPRESS exports nozzle models directly to FEA-Nozzles with the click of a button.

Benefits

FEA-Nozzles produces U-2(g) compliant analysis of geometries and loadings. External forces and moments, such as piping reactions and agitator loads, can be investigated. Often overlooked fatigue loadings can also be analyzed directly. FEA-Nozzles' analysis of combined cyclic pressure, thermal and mechanical loads are based on the design by analysis rules of ASME Section VIII, Division 2.

Once the FEA analysis has been run, the output is automatically included in your COMPRESS report. This makes your results easily available for third party review. In addition, FEA-Nozzles includes a powerful visualization tool that helps provide insight into the design.

Support and Update Service (SUS) subscribers benefit from PRGs Support Engineers who are available to assist in the use of their FEA software.
