All materials listed in ASME Section II Part D are available in the COMPRESS database. To reduce excessive scrolling, not all materials are listed in the dropdown lists in the component design dialogs.

If the material you wish is not in the component design dialogs' dropdown list, you must add it from the ASME database. Select the "Materials" menu and select the "ASME Division 1 Materials" item. This opens the Section II Part D materials database. This file is quite large and may take some time to open (10-15 seconds on slower machines). A clock icon will appear while the file is being opened.

The first column, titled "Use", in the database will have a green checkmark for each material specification that is available in the component design dialogs. You can remove or add materials as you wish. Move between materials with the arrow keys or directly by clicking them with the mouse cursor. Clicking with the mouse cursor toggles the check on and off (clicking off may take several seconds). If moving with the arrow keys the material must be clicked with the mouse to check or uncheck it.

Searching for desired materials to add is accomplished by first typing "SA-" (without quotes) in the Search field, and then as the spec number is typed, the database will autoscroll to the desired location.
