Question:

The COMPRESS database does not contain the bolt size I need for my flange (or for skirt base ring, etc). How do I add bolts to the database?

The COMPRESS bolt database contains bolts listed in common bolting standards. Other bolt sizes/types can be added as a user-defined bolt.

To add a user-defined bolt:

  1. Select the Materials menu, select the Bolts command. The Edit Bolt Sizes dialog will be displayed.
  2. Click Series 8 button or Coarse button to indicate the thread type, or click the Metric button if bolt is metric.
  3. Click the New button, the data fields will be unlocked. Enter the bolt data into the fields, then click the Commit button, then close the dialog. The new bolt will be retained in the database for use on other files as well.
