Question:
|
Has COMPRESS undergone a certification process
to verify the accuracy of the ASME Code
calculations performed? Is COMPRESS verification
documentation available?

Answer:
|
The ASME does not certify, approve or register
software or any other product or service. To meet
our users' needs and ensure the integrity of our
software, Codeware has implemented an extensive
in-house
Quality Assurance (QA) Program. A critical
part of Codeware's QA program requires each
COMPRESS Build to be tested extensively before
release. These tests include calculation
verifications as well as software functionality
checking. Hundreds of example COMPRESS files are
run and automatically compared to calculations
that have been manually verified. Differences
between the verification calculations and the
COMPRESS program output are considered errors
that require corrective action prior to releasing
the software.
Codeware's quality assurance procedures are
described in Codeware's Quality Manual. The
COMPRESS Verification Manual and COMPRESS baseline
verification files are the result of applying
Codeware's standard operating procedures (SOPs)
to a specific ASME Code Edition or Addenda. For a
simple statement suitable for provision to end
customers, inspectors, auditors etc., please see
Appendix A of the COMPRESS Verification Manual.
To view the COMPRESS Verification Manual,
select Help > Verification Manual
from within COMPRESS. To download Codeware's Quality Manual,
please see the
Quality Assurance area of our website.
