methods and is applicable to all types of in service pressure equipment. Learn how to perform Fitness
For Service assessments and remaining life calculations. Instruction on determining which flaw mitigation
options apply to the various flaw types and how to select effective repair methods is also presented.
The recently published ASME PPC-2, "Repair Procedures" are also covered.

Kamran (Kam) has 40 years of experience in pressure vessel design, fabrication and maintenance and
has participated extensively in the ASME. Kam is the author of several Welding Research Council
bulletins and serves on numerous ASME Code committees. He is currently the Vice-Chairman of
the Subcommittee on Pressure Vessels (Section VIII) and the Chairman of the Pressure Vessel Research
Council. Kam is also a member of the ASME’s Post Construction Committee and the ASME/API
Joint Committee on Fitness for Service.

This comprehensive four-day course covers all
aspects of pressure vessel (and other pressure
equipment) maintenance; including inspection,
evaluation of various flaws, and
repair/alteration rules of various Codes and
Standards. The rules of National Board
Inspection Code will be covered in detail. An
introduction to API-510 will be included.
API-579 Fitness for Service will be covered and
simple evaluation methods for several types of
flaws will be described and their use
demonstrated by example problems. The activities
of ASME Post Construction Committee will be
explained and some of the document published or
close to publication will be introduced. An
introduction to the research and development
work in the related fields will also be
