Software Licensing

COMPRESS and INSPECT are available as:

• Single User Annual Leases

  Single user leasing is recommended when the software will be used for only a short period of time, such as a single project. Unlike other software packages, no daily time restrictions are placed on your leases (24 hr. access for one (1) year).

• Single User Licenses

  Single user licensing is recommended when the software will be used on only one computer or when network access is unavailable (e.g. a laptop used off site). Unlike other software packages, no daily time restrictions are placed on your licenses (24 hr. access).

• Network Licences

  Network licenses can be used by any employee of your company (1 concurrent or simultaneous user per license), making it preferable in a domestic corporate environment. One security key, attached to your server, manages all of your network licenses. Licenses can be accessed by all authorized users (computers) on your network. Unlike other software packages, no daily time restrictions are placed on your network licenses (24 hr. access).

• Enterprise Network Licenses

  Enterprise network licenses can be accessed by employees of global affiliates, subsidiaries and parent companies, making it preferable in an international corporate environment. One security key, attached to your server, manages all of your network licenses. Licenses can be accessed by all authorized users (computers) on your network. The number of simultaneous or concurrent software users is dependent on the number of network licenses purchased. Unlike other software packages, no daily time restrictions are placed on your network licenses (24 hr. access).

Support, software updates and online training for the first year are included with each new license purchase and lease. For license purchases, after the first year you need only pay a renewal fee to keep your license up-to-date. Please Contact an Account Manager for full purchasing details.

• How many computers can I install Codeware Software on?

  Network (Standard and Enterprise) Licenses
  Network licenses are controlled by a USB security key attached to your server. Network licenses can be accessed or "checked out" by any authorized user (computer) connected to your network. Once a license is checked out, it cannot be accessed by others until the current user closes the program. For example, if you have five (5) COMPRESS licenses, up to five (5) people can be using the software at the same time.

  Single User Licenses and Leases
  Each single user COMPRESS and INSPECT license or lease is controlled by a USB security key. The software may be installed on multiple desktop or laptop computers but can only be accessed while the USB security key is attached.

• Can I upgrade a single user license to a network license?

  A single user license can easily be upgraded to a network license provided that you are current with your support. An upgrade fee and shipping charge (for your new network security key) applies.

• Can I apply lease payments to a full license purchase?

  We offer a "Lease-to-Own" plan for COMPRESS. After leasing COMPRESS for three consecutive years, you can convert your annual lease into a single user license. Once your lease has been converted, you need only pay an annual support renewal fee to keep your license active.
