COMPRESS 2013 Released
We are pleased to announce that COMPRESS® 2013 is now available. This release includes the Codeware Interface™ add-in for Autodesk Inventor® or SolidWorks®. Once the no-charge add-in is installed, use the .XML3D file exported from COMPRESS 2013 to transfer a solid model with design data into either software package.

Optimize Appendix 2 Flange Designs Using COMPRESS
Standard ASME B16.5/16.47 flanges usually provide the most cost effective solution for bolted connections. Hillside Nozzle Design With COMPRESS
Due to process and pipe routing considerations, nozzles on cylinders are frequently placed in a non-radial (hillside) orientation. In these cases COMPRESS automatically determines the governing plane of reinforcement taking into account the F factor (Fig. UG-37) and the chord length. The chord length is automatically calculated for you.

Check ASME Vessel and Exchanger Stresses Before Testing
The ASME Code requires that all vessels undergo hydro (or pneumatic) testing following fabrication and before Code stamping. As this test provides mechanical stress relief it may be thought of as the final step in the fabrication process. The hydro test is an effective way to screen for design, material and fabrication deficiencies as well as to prove the structural integrity of the equipment. However, this raises the question - what constitutes a hydro test "design deficiency"?
